Music Copying Services

At Buddy Darlin Music, we offer professional music copyist services for musicians, composers, and ensembles, small and large. We produce accurate, well-formatted scores, allowing you to focus on your art. Trust our copyists for quick, high-quality results to share your music confidently.

Services will cost either the Standard Hourly Rate or the customized per page rate, whichever is lower.

Music Copying Services

  • Creating clean and accurate sheet music from handwritten scores, rough drafts, audio recordings, or existing printed materials. This includes part extraction, score reduction, and transposition. Utilizing Dorico Pro 6 software to produce professionally engraved scores and parts suitable for publication and/or performance.

    • Single Line Parts: $19 per page

    • Solo Vocal/Instrument with Piano: $25 per page

    • Small Ensemble (Duos, Trios, Quartets, Quintets): $22.50 per page

    • Full Score (larger than Quintet): $40 per page

    • Single Line Parts Extracted from Completed Score: $10 per page

    • Piano Parts Extracted from Completed Scores: $12 per page

    Add $2.25/page if page includes lyrics

    ***All per page rates are based on the finished project, not the original submission***

  • Notating music from audio recordings, including instrumental and vocal parts, chord changes and rhythmic figures.

    • Transcribing: $60 per hour (Standard Hourly Rate)

    • Proofreading/Cleanup: $45 per hour

  • Formatting and preparing scores and parts for arrangments and orchestration, ensuring clarity and accuracy for performers.

    • Standard Hourly rate: $60

  • Addressing specific notation needs and creating tailored solutions for unique musical situations.

    • Transposition from Existing Score: 10% of total project cost if previously produced by Buddy Darlin Music. Otherwise, Score Creation or Standard Hourly Rate applies (whichever is lower).

    • Transposition from Audio/MIDI: Score Creation + 10% or Standard Hourly Rate applies (whichever is lower)

  • Providing custom tracks for your audition opportunities is our goal. Buddy Darlin Music strives to allow you to audition worry-free with cuts and keys that work best for you. Varying instrumentation is available depending on your desire. All the way from simple piano to full orchestra, it will be done.

    • 16-bar cut (piano): $15 per song

    • 32-bar cut (piano): $25 per song

    • 16-bar cut (2 or more instruments): $15 for the cut + $5 per instrument added

    • 32-bar cut (2 or more instruments): $25 for the cut + $5 per instrument added

  • This option is the same idea as the audition cut option, but pertaining to the full song.

    • Full Song (piano): $35 per song

    • Full Song (2 or more instruments): $35 for the cut + $5 per instrument added

    • Standard Hourly rate: $60

  • Addressing specific notation needs and creating tailored solutions for unique musical situations.

    • Transposition from Existing Track(s): 10% of total project cost if previously produced by Buddy Darlin Music. Otherwise, Custom Tracks (Audition Cut or Full Song) or Standard Hourly Rate ($60) applies (whichever is lower).
